PITTSBURGH (AP) — Pittsburgh police say a Duquesne University student lied when she claimed she was robbed and sexually assaulted by three men last month.
A police spokeswoman wouldn't say whether the woman will face charges, or what really happened to the woman — if anything.
Spokeswoman Sonya Toler said Thursday, "I will only state that the investigation determined that the student's claims were untrue."
The woman told police the men approached her around 11:30 a.m. Oct. 28 while she was walking behind the campus' bookstore.
Police say the girl told them the men forced her to go with them to a nearby apartment. She says they stole her money and a credit card and then sexually assaulted her.
The incident prompted the private, Catholic school to issue a crime alert to students and faculty.
