TWIN FALLS, Idaho (AP) — A man and a woman charged with murder in the death of a Nevada man at a Twin Falls motel have been sentenced to life in prison.
The Times-News reports (http://bit.ly/1kJ1ca0 ) 23-year-old William Dean McGrath, of Filer, and 30-year-old Crystal Turner, of Twin Falls, were sentenced Thursday. They both previously pleaded guilty to murder in Charles Johnston's February killing as part of a plea deal.
Johnston, of Winnemucca, Nevada, had been visiting Twin Falls to help Turner find somewhere to live. Detectives say Turner made plans to rob him at the Apollo Motor Inn.
Twin Falls County Prosecuting Attorney Grant Loebs says McGrath shot and killed Johnston.
Turner, who didn't have a gun, was charged with murder under Idaho's "felony murder rule."
