The final results in a tight race between Biskupski and incumbent Ralph Becker will be unveiled this afternoon at an election canvass event. The last results released publicly showed Biskupski had a 1,450-vote lead over Becker with about 5,000 ballots left to be counted.

PROVO, Utah (AP) — Sentencing for an Orem man who pleaded guilty to kidnapping and raping a young girl has been postponed as the defendant is trying to withdraw his plea. SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — An appeals court in Denver today hears from a group of snowboarders who argue a ban on their sport at Utah's Alta Ski Area amounts to discrimination. The lawsuit has brought attention to the long-festering culture clash on the slopes between skiers and snowboarders. The snowboarders appealed after the case was dismissed last year by a federal court judge in Utah.

LONG BEACH, Calif. (AP) — Branford Jones had a go-ahead 3-point play with 3:57 left and Long Beach State deflected two BYU inbound passes in the final 4 seconds to secure a 66-65 victory over the Cougars early this morning. Kyle Collinsworth, who set a single-season NCAA record with six triple-doubles last season, had 12 points, 12 rebounds and six assists for BYU.
