PULLMAN, Wash. (AP) — Police in Pullman, Washington, say a Washington State University student was injured when she fell off a third-story balcony of an off-campus apartment.

Cmdr. Chris Tennant says the 19-year-old woman suffered a broken arm and internal injuries that are serious but not considered life-threatening. He says she fell about 22 feet early Sunday.

He says alcohol is a factor in the fall.

A police officer who was in the area of the apartment building heard the commotion and found the woman unconscious and unresponsive on the ground. She was treated by paramedics and taken to a local hospital before being transferred to Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane.

Tennant says it's the fourth time since August that someone has been injured in a fall in the college town.
