DEL MAR, Calif. (AP) — Lucky Folie won the $100,000 Desi Arnaz Stakes for 2-year-old fillies by a half-length Sunday at Del Mar.
Ridden by Hall of Famer Gary Stevens, Lucky Folie ran seven furlongs in 1:23.86 and paid $6.40, $4.60 and $6 at 2-1 odds.
Treasuring returned $8.20 and $10.80 at 11-1 odds, while Street Fancy was another nose back in third and paid $15.80 at 16-1 odds.
Pretty N Cool, the 3-5 favorite, finished fifth and last. Treasuring and Pretty N Cool are both trained by Bob Baffert.
The victory, worth $60,000, increased Lucky Folie's career earnings to $114,000, with two wins in three starts for Hall of Fame trainer Richard Mandella.
Doug O'Neill saddled four winners on the card, one short of the record he set for most wins in a single day at Del Mar in July. He won the fourth, fifth, sixth and seventh races.
