TWIN FALLS, Idaho (AP) — The number of homeless children attending schools in Twin Falls is higher than a year ago. The Times-News reports 272 homeless students were enrolled as of October, up from 192 a year earlier. Administrators attribute that partly to better identifying students without permanent housing.

COEUR D'ALENE, Idaho (AP) — Kootenai County Sheriff's detectives are investigating the death of a 27-year-old Spokane woman whose body was found on the south end of Lake Coeur d'Alene. KHQ-TV reports that fisherman found the body of Kimberly Sue Vezina earlier this week. Vezina has a lengthy criminal history in Spokane. Deputies say her death was listed as suspicious.

TWIN FALLS, Idaho (AP) — The March of Dimes has given Idaho high marks for its relatively low premature birth rates. The Times-News reports Idaho earned an A on a March of Dimes report card that compares preterm birth rates with the March of Dimes' goal of 8.1 percent by 2020.

BOISE, Idaho (AP) — Officials say an inmate at the East Boise Community Center died at a local hospital. KTVB-TV reports that 59-year-old Margaret Gorman of Nampa died Thursday. An Idaho Department of Corrections spokesman says a separate inmate at the re-entry center notified employees early Thursday morning that Gorman appeared ill. The cause of death wasn't immediately available.
