Chairman Michael McDonald is seeking a third two-year term. He's been dogged by bad press over a financial mismanagement lawsuit and his quiet hiring to high-paid state job.
LAS VEGAS (AP) — Dozens of veterans are in Las Vegas for a free VIP weekend on the Strip. MGM Resorts International said it is hosting 70 wounded veterans and their guests and family members from around the country for a five-day stay on the Las Vegas Strip. The veterans come from military hospitals in Maryland.
SPARKS, Nev. (AP) — Sparks Mayor Geno Martini says he has been diagnosed with Parkinson's disease but intends to serve through the end of his term in November 2018. Martini announced today that he's been living with Parkinson's since 2012 but doesn't yet have any of the symptoms.
LAS VEGAS (AP) — Services have been set for soap opera actor Nathaniel Marston, who relatives say was getting sober for a Hollywood comeback. Authorities said Marston died Wednesday at a Reno, Nevada, hospital after suffering critical injuries in an Oct. 30 crash on a state highway near Nixon.
