ORANGE, Calif. (AP) — Police in Orange say three people have been found dead in a burning car.

Sgt. Phil McMullin says police and firefighters were called to a residential neighborhood shortly before 2:30 p.m. Monday and found a black SUV on fire.

The blaze was quickly doused and the three bodies were found inside.

There's no word yet on their identities or how they died. McMullin says there wasn't any report of a traffic accident before the fire.

Homicide detectives are investigating.
