Report: Minnesota grads have more student debt on average

ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) — A new report says Minnesota college and university graduates have more debt on average than students in all but four other states.

The Project on Student Debt analysis reports 2014 Minnesota graduates have about $32,000 in student debt.

Minnesota's higher education commissioner Larry Pogemiller says the debt load has actually leveled off in the last several years. He says Minnesota is below average on loan default rates.

Minnesota Public Radio News (http://bit.ly/1O7aF7h ) says data was collected from 22 colleges and universities in Minnesota.
