FORNEY, Texas (AP) — A 15-year-old student has been arrested after police say he threatened violence at a high school in Kaufman County.
According to Forney Independent School District spokesman Larry Coker, a student overheard the suspect tell other classmates that he planned to bring a gun to North Forney High School on Wednesday. Coker said the teenager was arrested late Tuesday, and classes continued the next day with extra security to monitor hallways and school entrances.
The Kaufman County Sheriff's Department says the student is now being held at a juvenile detention facility and faces a charge of exhibition of a firearm.
