SALT LAKE CITY — For the second straight week and third time this season, the three major in-state college football programs all won.
Utah State forced eight Boise State turnovers in a 52-26 win to take the driver's seat in the MWC Mountain Division race.
BYU fell behind early to Cincinnati, but stormed back behind quarterback Tanner Mangum to win 38-24.
And despite a normally strong special teams unit giving up big plays to the Sun Devils, the Utes defeated Arizona State 34-18.
In other games this week, LSU used a fake field goal to beat Florida 35-28 and Notre Dame beat USC 41-31.
With the games in the books, how did we do? Here are the results of Week 7 of KSL's College Football Pick'em.
KSL.com user E. Callister (USU fan base) took the top spot in Week 7 with 217 points out of a possible 250.
Callister went 5-0 for the week, with best picks being LSU 34, Florida 27 (48 points) and Utah State 31, Boise State 28 (46 points). By finishing with the most points in Week 7, Callister will receive a $30 Wells Fargo Visa gift card.
Consensus picks were 4-1 for the week (prediction, actual): BYU vs. Cincinnati (33-28, 38-24); Utah State vs. Boise State (21-34, 52-26); Utah vs. Arizona State (32-23, 34-18); LSU vs. Florida (29-23, 35-28); and Notre Dame vs. USC (31-21, 41-31).
Utah State fans were the most accurate in Week 7, correctly picking 76 percent of the games and scoring an average of 28 points per game. Utah fans were second in scoring with 25 points per game but third in overall percentage at 69 percent, while BYU fans finished with 24.9 points per game and 70 percent correct.
Utah fans were the most optimistic heading into Week 7 with 97 percent of fans picking the Utes to beat Arizona State. 92 percent of BYU fans picked the Cougars to beat Cincinnati while only 46.3 percent of Utah State's fan base picked the Aggies to beat Boise State.
For those following the KSL Sports group, Rod Zundel and Ben Schroeder finished in a tie with 4-1 records and 167 points. Andy Larsen remains No. 1 overall with a record of 28-7 and 1,017 points.
Here is the schedule of games for Week 8: San Diego State (4-3) vs. Utah State (4-2); BYU (5-2) vs. Wagner (0-6); No. 17 Oklahoma (5-1) vs. Texas Tech (5-2); No. 24 Ole Miss (5-2) vs. No. 15 Texas A&M (5-1); and USC (3-3) vs. No. 3 Utah (6-0).
