KENNESAW, Ga. (AP) — Trey White threw three touchdowns passes for the first scores of the game and Kennesaw State went on to a 56-17 victory over Point University on Saturday.
White threw 43 yards to Darnell Holland, 69 yards to Chaston Bennett and 19 yards to Justin Sumpter as the Owls (4-1) sped to a 21-0 lead. White finished 9 of 14 for 239 yards. Bennett ran for 70 yards and two touchdowns and added 90 yards receiving.
Leading at halftime 35-10, the Owls added a 13-yard touchdown run by Bennett and a 14-yarder from Jake McKenzie for a 49-10 lead after three quarters.
The Owls, who debuted their football program this year, rolled up 699 yards offense, including 391 on the ground via 11 ball carriers.
The NAIA Skyhawks (5-2) had 340 yards, including an 86-yard scoring pass to Connor Reed from Charles Fortis, who was 14 of 25 with an interception.
