LAS VEGAS (AP) — Police in Las Vegas believe they've found the car involved in the hit-and-run of a 5-year-old girl, but they're still looking for the driver. Witnesses say the driver who hit the girl slowed down and said "I'm sorry" before driving off. The girl was hospitalized with a severe leg injury. The driver could receive an automatic two-year prison sentence under a new state law that took effect Thursday.
LAS VEGAS (AP) — Las Vegas police are also searching for a man who fled after his car collided with a motorcycle, killing the driver. Investigators say a Hummer H2 was making a left turn as the motorcycle was approaching. The motorcyclist and a passenger were thrown off. The passenger is hospitalized with critical injuries.
LAS VEGAS (AP) — Authorities have released the identities of a Las Vegas woman and her son who were killed by a neighbor before he turned the gun on himself. Officials say 39-year-old Jennifer Bagley and 8-year-old Lex Donoso died from gunshot wounds. Investigators are trying to determine a motive.
CRIPPLE CREEK, Colo. (AP) — A $30 million deal is in the works to buy one of the most prominent casinos in Cripple Creek, Colorado. Las Vegas-based Full House Resorts is planning to buy Bronco Billy's Casino and Hotel. It's one of the last of the original casinos in Cripple Creek that is still locally owned. Full House is expected to complete the purchase in the next six months.
