TOKYO (AP) — Yanina Wickmayer of Belgium overpowered Ajla Tomljanovic 7-5, 6-2 on Saturday to advance to the final of the Japan Open.

Wickmayer converted all five of her break point chances to dispatch the seventh-seeded Tomljanovic in 1 hour, 27 minutes at Ariake Colosseum.

Wickmayer will face Magda Linette of Poland in Sunday's final. Linette ousted sixth-seeded Christina McHale of the United States 3-6, 6-4, 6-3.

Linette got off to a sluggish start but seized control of the match in the second set when she broke her opponent's serve three times.

Wickmayer has three career titles while Linette is seeking her first.
