CLEVELAND (AP) — Authorities say the wife of a slain Cleveland firefighter and three others killed the man so she could cover up financial fraud and collect on a life insurance policy.
The four were indicted Monday on charges including aggravated murder, conspiracy and felonious assault in the November 2013 fatal shooting of 45-year-old fire Lt. William Walker in the driveway of his home.
A spokesman for the Cuyahoga County prosecutor says investigators initially thought neighborhood drug dealers might have killed Walker before pursuing Walker's wife, 44-year-old Uloma Walker-Curry, as a suspect.
The spokesman says Walker-Curry conspired with three men and a juvenile to kill her husband.
Walker-Curry is being held on a $1 million bond. No information was available on an attorney who could comment on her behalf.
