ROCKPORT, Mass. (AP) — Officials say the body of a woman who fell off a cruise ship has been pulled from waters off the Massachusetts coast.

The U.S. Coast Guard says it received a distress call around 7 p.m. Friday that a woman had fallen overboard the Seabourn Quest while the cruise ship was about 10 miles off Cape Ann.

The Coast Guard responded by air and by sea, along with Rockport Harbormaster officials, who pulled the woman's body from the water around 8:30 p.m. Harbormaster officials confirmed she was dead.

No details about the woman or how she went overboard were immediately released.

The Coast Guard says the 650-foot cruise ship, based out of the Bahamas, had left Boston on Friday afternoon and was bound for Bar Harbor, Maine.
