DURHAM, N.H. (AP) — The University of New Hampshire administration and an organization that represents 600 of its faculty have not reached an agreement during contract negotiations.
Foster's Daily Democrat reports (http://bit.ly/1ijjSMe ) that negotiations between the school and its chapter of the American Association of University Professors-Tenure Track are at an impasse.
The school announced Thursday that the next step is mediation, which will take place in the fall.
Officials say the primary unresolved issues are salary and benefits. The school's most recent formal proposal was for a five-year contract with an annual average increase of 2.8 percent.
The union has proposed salary increases of 3.5 percent annually and has indicated it will not accept proposed changes to health benefits.
The last agreement between the parties expired on June 30.
