LAS VEGAS (AP) — The National Transportation Safety Board is investigating the fire that broke out in an engine of a British Airways jet that was preparing to take off from Las Vegas yesterday afternoon. Clark County Deputy Fire Chief Jon Klassen said the cause of the fire isn't clear yet, but the fire didn't appear to enter the cabin. Fourteen people were taken to a hospital, mostly with injuries from sliding down emergency evacuation chutes.

LAS VEGAS (AP) — Clark County District Attorney Steve Wolfson plans to announce today whether a 17-year-old will be tried as an adult on charges that he attempted to kill a police officer. The teen was arrested Sunday after the shooting that police described as an ambush. One of two officers in a patrol vehicle was shot in the hand.

LAS VEGAS (AP) — A 24-year-old Las Vegas man is facing five felony drunken driving charges in a fiery three-vehicle crash that killed a shuttle bus driver and a German tourist. Jonathan Donner is due for an initial court appearance today in the Saturday evening crash at a busy downtown Las Vegas intersection.

RENO, Nev. (AP) — Officials for Hillary Rodham Clinton's presidential campaign say they're opening her first office in northern Nevada. Nevada Campaign Director Emmy Ruiz says the Reno office will serve as the hub of activity for Clinton in the northern half of the state as she seeks the 2016 Democratic nomination.
