LINCOLN, Neb. — All Cougar fans know all about the Miracle Bowl and John Beck to Jonny Harline, but now they get to add Big Red Reception to the annals of BYU football history following BYU's 33-28 win Saturday.

BYU played the Nebraska Cornhuskers close all game and even led by 10 at one point behind the familiar antics of quarterback Taysom Hill.

Taysom Hill already 5/8 for 108 yards to go with that rushing TD with 2:50 left in the first quarter. #Huskers — Greg Smith (@GregSmithSports) September 5, 2015

Hill looked pretty sharp, but he was limping after his second TD. Freshman QB Tanner Mangum took a couple of snaps and looked good for the Cougars, but BYU fans breathed a sigh of relief when Hill trotted back onto the field.

Hill got a nice TD through the air as he hit big Mitch Mathews wide open in the end zone.

While that TD was great, it was the Terenn Houk catch that set the social media universe on fire.

Terren Houk is playing his best game as a Cougar. Consistent after his opening drop. — Jared Smith (@JaredtheCougrFn) September 5, 2015

We can talk about the Cougar defense being inconsistent. We could talk about a lack of execution on offense following defensive turnovers. We could even talk about poor clock management and using up time outs, but that's not what we're interested in is it?

Let's talk about Mangum coming in and winning a huge game for BYU.

Right out the gate Mangum looked solid.

Pretty stoked about Tanner Mangum. Looked SOLID on three downs! #BYUvsNEB — Scott Christopher (@LevityEffect) September 5, 2015

Mangum was making smart plays and hitting receivers, but it was the last drive with less than a minute to play that will get him into the BYU history books.

With one second left Mangum hurled the ball near the 50-yard line and hit Mathews for the game-winning TD as time expired. As you can imagine, people immediately fell in love with him.

Holy Freaking Cow!!!!! Tanner Mangum is one replay away from legend status. — David James (@DavidDJJames) September 5, 2015

Let's not forget Mathews who did a lot of the work on that play.

Tanner Mangum & Mitch Matthews are my heros. The most amazing @BYU win I've ever seen. @cougars#BYUvsNEB#MangumMiracle#sportscenter — Donny Osmond (@donnyosmond) September 5, 2015

Let's take another look at it, shall we?

Yes, Mathews and Tanner Mangum are likely going to have big weeks on BYU's campus. At least @LordTaylorField thinks so.

While all of this was amazing and sent Cougar nation into a frenzy, we should take a moment to remember the real highlight of the game. That would be the moment Houk hugged the ref after the win.

The Big Red Reception will go down in BYU history and so will the Hug It Out Houk celebration.

The Cougars have their home opener next week as they take on rival Boise State.

Also, there's this just for fun.
