OAKLAND, Maine (AP) — A Maine police department is trying to get Facebook to take down a page that's threatening to post nude photos of underage girls, including students at Messalonskee High School.

Oakland Police Capt. Rick Stubbert tells the Morning Sentinel (http://bit.ly/1NapQf8 ) the department has been in contact with Facebook to bring down the page and find out who's responsible. The page was reported to the high school's resource officer on Tuesday.

He says the issue "really brings home the danger of putting information and photographs out there."

The department is urging possible victims of the site to notify police. It said on its Facebook page that sending or copying those images could be a violation of the state's child pornography laws.
