SAN DIEGO (AP) — San Diego State University has lifted a male student's suspension after an investigation found allegations of sexual misconduct against him were unsubstantiated.
The San Diego Union-Tribune reported Tuesday (http://bit.ly/1O6Aq3W) that the student, Francisco Sousa, plans to sue the school for monetary damages. He also wants officials to apologize for sending a campus-wide email that told students he had been arrested.
The 21-year-old transfer student from Portugal was arrested in December and charged with false imprisonment and forcible oral copulation of a female student. The charges were later dropped. He has since enrolled in another school.
Sousa has already sued SDSU to get access to specific accusations that led to the suspension.
Sousa's attorney provided documents and emails that confirmed the school had closed the case.
University officials did not comment on Tuesday.
