ATLANTA (AP) — DeKalb County officials are urging residents to take precautions as more mosquitoes test positive for West Nile virus.
An official with the county's environmental health division, Juanette Willis, said two human infections have been reported so far.
WSB-TV reports (http://bit.ly/1ICJQ24 ) that in one week, the number of mosquito samples that tested positive as carriers nearly doubled from 37 to 70.
County workers found mosquitoes that tested positive at a park in Avondale Estates and 17 other locations across the metro Atlanta county.
The virus tends to spike in August, September and October.
