ROANOKE, Va. (AP) — Saturday is move-in day and the start of orientation for more than 500 new students at Roanoke College.
The new students come from 38 states and 28 foreign countries.
Students will sign their names into the college record books and receive an official welcome from President Mike Maxey on Saturday afternoon. Later that night, they will hear from 1992 graduate Sean Burch, a record-setting extreme hiker and the 2014 winner of National Geographic Channel's Ultimate Survival Alaska.
First-year students will work on a Habitat for Humanity house Sunday through Tuesday.
