INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — Indianapolis police say they safely detonated a pipe bomb after evacuating students from a school on Indianapolis's east side.

About 400 students were taken to a nearby community center after the device was found about 12:30 p.m. Tuesday in a trash container on the grounds of Christian Park School.

No injuries were reported.

Parents of the students were notified. The students were dismissed for the day from the community center.
