Proponents of the move say the site 3 miles west of Salt Lake City International Airport will allow Utah to build a state-of-the-art facility and tear down a crowded, aging prison in Draper to free up that land for business development. Salt Lake City opposes the move.

Unified Police found body yesterday of Shelli Marie Brown. SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — The Utah Supreme Court has ruled that an unmarried father, whose child was placed for adoption without his knowledge, forfeited his parental rights by not filing a paternity action under a deal he agreed to with his son's mother. The Salt Lake Tribune reports Jake Strickland's girlfriend had promised not to place the child for adoption if Strickland agreed not to file a paternity action. Despite the agreement, she finalized adoption arrangements without telling him.
