MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (AP) — Three West Virginia University entities agreed to pay a total of $1.3 million to settle sexual harassment lawsuits against the school's neurosurgery chairman.
Settlement documents obtained by The Dominion Post (http://bit.ly/1PocitR ) through a Freedom of Information Act request show the WVU Board of Governors, through the West Virginia Board of Risk & Insurance Management, is responsible for $875,000 of the total.
University Health Associates, also through the insurance board, is responsible for $287,500 and WVU Hospitals is responsible for $200,000.
Former licensed practical nurse Angela Maset, administrative secretary Tiffany Edwards, and former advance practice registered nurse Elizabeth Baldwin filed the lawsuits against Dr. Charles Rosen in 2014.
The defendants denied wrongdoing in the settlements.
The newspaper says Rosen was suspended for two weeks without pay in 2014.
