SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Miller Motorsports Park will remain open following its sale to a Chinese investment company.
Tooele County commissioners announced the $20 million sale of the auto racetrack during a meeting Tuesday night. The county inherited the track last year after the Larry H. Miller Group of Companies did not renew its lease on the 511-acre site.
The track's new owner is Mitime Investment and Development Group, a subsidiary of the largest independent automotive company in China, Geely Group of Companies.
The park's track designer, Alan Wilson, now works for Geely.
He says Miller will serve as a campus for drivers, mechanics and track personnel who work for Geely or want to work in the China's emerging car racing industry.
