LUBBOCK, Texas (AP) — Texas Tech University has made changes for improved oversight of fraternities and sororities including a website to report complaints.
School officials in Lubbock on Wednesday announced details in preparation for the semester beginning Aug. 24.
A task force established last fall reviewed Greek life and made recommendations to ensure a more safe and secure environment. The group was formed after pictures taken at a Phi Delta Theta fraternity party and posted online made references to "no means yes" and anal sex.
Phi Delta Theta International Fraternity last October removed 29 Texas Tech members, put their charter in escrow and required others to volunteer with rape crisis and sexual assault prevention groups.
The changes also limit opportunities for unsanctioned Greek events by restricting the hours and timing for new member activities.
