MERIDIAN, Idaho (AP) — A 23-year-old man has been arrested after a woman reported being attacked by a naked man at a Meridian convenience store. The Idaho Statesman reports that the assault was reported about 6 a.m. yesterday. The woman says a naked man attacked her when she entered the women's restroom. Police say the man was hospitalized after officers determined he was under the influence of methamphetamine. He was later booked into jail.

MERIDIAN, Idaho (AP) — A pair of Meridian parents has been arrested for investigation of felony injury to a child after police say they left their toddler in a hot car while they went grocery shopping. KBOI-TV reports Paula Opyd and Frayne Hutton were shopping Saturday in Meridian for about an hour before they realized they had left their 18-month-old child in the car. The toddler is now in state custody.

MELROSE, Minn. (AP) — An Idaho man wanted for kidnapping has been arrested at a campground in Minnesota. Sheriff's deputies say Joshua Michael Oquendo of Pocatello had an arrest warrant for kidnapping and child custody interference. The Idaho State Journal reported last week that Oquendo had failed to show up for a custody hearing with his 1-year-old daughter.

BOISE, Idaho (AP) — Former Idaho lawmaker Bert Marley of McCammon has been elected chairman of the Idaho Democratic Party. Marley replaces Larry Kenck, who resigned earlier this year because of health issues. He beat opponent Dean Ferguson, who is the current party's spokesman.
