BALMA, France (AP) — An aviation security expert tells French TV there isn't much doubt in the aeronautic community that a wing flap found on an island in the Indian Ocean came from Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 which vanished more than a year ago. Analysts at a French military testing facility will soon start working to confirm that. The wreckage arrived at the testing site today.
NEW YORK (AP) — New York City health officials say a fourth person with Legionnaires' disease has died in the Bronx. A total of 65 cases have been reported and 55 people have been hospitalized. Twenty have been discharged. The legionella bacteria were discovered yesterday at the Opera House Hotel in the Bronx. The bacteria had previously been found in equipment at a hospital.
RIO DE JANEIRO (AP) — The World Health Organization has asked the International Olympic Committee to analyze virus levels in Brazilian waters where athletes will be competing a year from now. And the governing body of world sailing says it plans to conduct its own independent virus tests. The moves come after an Associated Press investigation found several Olympic venues around Rio rife with viruses and bacteria. Olympic organizers currently test for bacteria, but not viruses.
WASHINGTON (AP) — The Secret Service says a woman has been arrested after jumping over a waist-high barricade in front of the White House. The agency says the woman was immediately detained by uniformed Secret Service officers after she jumped the barricade last evening. She was charged with unlawful entry.
WASHINGTON (AP) — President Barack Obama has headed for Camp David with a trio of longtime friends from Hawaii to celebrate his upcoming birthday. Earlier, the group played golf at Andrews Air Force Base. Obama turns 54 on Tuesday.
