LAS VEGAS (AP) — Prison officials say a 45-year-old female inmate convicted of attempted burglary and drug trafficking has died.
Nevada Department of Corrections said Thursday that Laura McCrocklin died the night before at Valley Hospital Medical Center in Las Vegas.
Online records show McCrocklin was an inmate at the Florence McClure Women's Correctional Center northeast of Las Vegas.
Officials say she had been in prison since March 31 and was serving two concurrent sentences. The drug charge carried a maximum of more than six-and-a-half years.
The agency says the Clark County Coroner's office will conduct an autopsy to determine how McCrocklin died.
