WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah (AP) — Police are searching for three suspects who allegedly shot a man during a home invasion in West Valley City.

Authorities say officers were called to a home around 1:15 a.m. Saturday after reports of shots being fired.

Officers say they found a backyard sliding glass door open and signs of a struggle inside the house.

They then discovered the body of a man with a gunshot wound.

The body has been turned over to a medical examiner for an autopsy.

Police spokeswoman Roseanne Vainuku says further investigation has turned up evidence that three people forced their way inside and confronted the victim and the homeowner.

According to Vainuku, the suspects were wearing all black with bandanas covering their faces. They fled in a dark and large Suburban-style SUV.
