PITTSBURGH (AP) — The mother of a 2-year-old Pennsylvania girl found dead in a ravine has been arraigned on charges she asphyxiated her after becoming angry about helping the toddler clean herself after using the toilet.

Twenty-six-year-old Adriene Williams, of Wilkinsburg, was arraigned Wednesday on criminal homicide and other charges in the death of her daughter, Adrionna. Williams was arrested Tuesday by Allegheny County police.

She was ordered jailed without bail until her July 17 preliminary hearing.

Police say Williams killed Adrionna, then dumped her body in a ravine in nearby Swissvale. A dog walker found the body about 40 minutes after other relatives reported Adrionna missing June 14.

An attorney for Williams didn't immediately return a call seeking comment Wednesday.
