BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — A task force set up to address what state officials say is a teacher shortage in North Dakota has begun meeting.
The group formed by the Department of Public Instruction met at the Capitol in Bismarck on Wednesday to begin brainstorming solutions both for the upcoming school year and for the long term.
There's no available estimate on the number of open teaching positions in the state. But State School Superintendent Kirsten Baesler says the shortage might rise to a "crisis" level this fall.
