NEW YORK (AP) — Mylute overcame a hard bump at the start to capture his season debut Friday, the $85,000 allowance feature at Belmont Park.
Now a member of the Todd Pletcher barn, Mylute regrouped to beat Lucky Lotto by 2 1/4 lengths as the 4-5 favorite. He was trained by Tom Amoss in his previous races, including a third in the 2013 Preakness.
John Velazquez was aboard the 5-year-old for the mile in 1:35.03 on the fast track.
Mylute paid $3.90, $3 and $2.10 for his fourth victory in 18 starts.
Lucky Lotto returned $5.80 and $3.40, and Mail paid $2.60 to show.
