ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) — Boston shortstop Xander Bogaerts left the Red Sox's game at Texas after being hit with a pitch on his left forearm.

Bogaerts initially stayed in the game Thursday night after being hit by a pitch in the second inning. But he was removed for a pinch-hitter in the fourth.

Bogaerts stayed in after be tended to by a trainer, and even caught a popup in the third inning.

Carlos Peguero, traded from Texas to Boston on Wednesday, pinch-hit for Bogaerts in the fourth. Peguero stayed in the game, going to left field in the bottom of the inning, when Brock Holt moved from left to shortstop.
