BELLEFONTAINE, Ohio (AP) — An Ohio man who authorities say told officers he used a plastic wand from window blinds as a switch on his 5-year-old son has been charged with murder in the boy's death.

Twenty-four-year-old Anthony Barton of Bellefontaine (behl-FOWN'-tihn) was charged Friday after being charged days earlier with felony child endangering.

Barton's son Michael died at a hospital Wednesday, two days after Barton's girlfriend called 911 to report the boy wasn't breathing.

The Columbus Dispatch reports (http://bit.ly/1KqSJ4Z ) that preliminary autopsy results show the boy received multiple blows to the head, causing his brain to bleed.

Barton remained in the Logan County jail Saturday on $1 million bond. It's not clear if he has an attorney.
