LONDON (AP) — Scotland Yard has charged eight suspects with conspiracy to burgle in the well-planned Easter weekend break-in at a safe-deposit box facility in London's famed Hatton Garden diamond district, and a fresh arrest was made.

Police said Thursday a 42-year-old British man was arrested also for conspiracy to burgle and is being questioned in London.

Police say a further man has been freed on bail but is still facing inquiries.

The group is accused of climbing down an elevator shaft and drilling through thick concrete walls to gain access to the vaults.

The eight men who have been charged, aged between 48 and 76, are set to appear in court Thursday.

Police did not assign a value to the heist of contents from 72 safe-deposit boxes used by jewelers.
