PLAQUEMINE, La. (AP) — A teacher in the Iberville Parish school district is facing sexual assault charges involving students.
The Advocate (http://bit.ly/1FxPHL5 ) reports 30-year-old Keavin Keith of Plaquemine was arrested late Monday. Sheriff Brett Stassi said Keith admitted to investigators that he'd had sex with three students. A school district spokesman says Keith taught ninth and 10th-grade physics and geography at a math, science and arts school in Iberville.
The sheriff's office says Keith was arrested after a former student told police she and the teacher had a sexual relationship. Stassi says deputies discovered Keith also had sexual contact with two female students still enrolled at the school.
Keith is facing 37 counts related to inappropriate behavior with students. His stepfather told the newspaper his son has a lawyer but no one would comment.
