SHREVEPORT, La. (AP) — Caddo Parish School Board member Kacee Kirschvink will resign because she's taking a new job in south Louisiana.
KTBS-TV reports (http://bit.ly/1PUQbdP ) Tuesday that Kirschvink outlined her plans in an email to board members.
Kirschvink, who represents District 11 in southwest Shreveport, was elected in November. She was one of three candidates backed by an education-focused political action committee that helped to unseat long-time incumbents in elections last year.
Once the seat is declared vacant, the board has 20 days to appoint a temporary member and call a special election to fill the remainder of Kirschvink's four-year term.
