HURRICANE, Utah (AP) — Police say the woman found dead inside a submerged car in the Quail Creek Reservoir in southwestern Utah is 58-year-old Sherry L. Cowger of Hurricane.

A group of BYU students camping nearby reported seeing a large splash and signs that a vehicle had crashed into the water Monday night.

Hurricane police Sgt. Brandon Buell says that divers located Cowger's 2004 red Ford Focus, upside down in about 30 feet of water. The vehicle was pulled from the water using tow ropes and flotation devices hours later.

Police say they haven't been able to determine why Cowger's car left the road sending it off an embankment and rolling down the hill into the water.
