MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (AP) — An actor who starred on the TV show "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" and was in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, for XCon World Comic Convention was arrested on a public intoxication charge.

Local media outlets report that 44-year-old Nicholas Brendon was taken into custody Saturday night. Police charged Brendon with public intoxication, and he was released Sunday.

Myrtle Beach police Lt. Joey Crosby said Monday that there were no other details to be released about Brendon's arrest. It was unclear whether Brendon had a lawyer to contact for comment.

This is Brendon's third arrest of the year. In February, Brendon was arrested after officials said he refused to pay a bill at a Florida hotel. In March, he was arrested and charged with criminal mischief and property damage at another Florida hotel.
