PHOENIX (AP) — Phoenix may allow Arizona State University and a private-sector partner to use city-owned land for a health care-focused project in downtown.
A proposed ordinance to be considered Tuesday by the City Council would allow the university and Culver City, California-based NantWorks to develop a 7-acre parcel on the Phoenix Biomedical Campus.
According to a briefing paper submitted to the council, the project when complete would include lab space, offices, clinical facilities, academic institutes, manufacturing operations and other uses.
A minimum investment of $75 million would be required, and the project would be built in multiple phases.
