MILTON, Ga. (AP) — Police say a man has been arrested after letting his 15-year-old daughter drive her family home from a concert because he was drunk.
Multiple news outlets report that 43-year-old Jason Phipps let his daughter drive Saturday after a Zac Brown concert in Alpharetta. The outlets say witnesses watched as she hit a parked Jeep and continued driving.
Police tracked the vehicle to a home in Milton, in metro Atlanta. Police say that when the family arrived, Phipps was driving and officers smelled alcohol. Phipps was arrested on DUI charges.
Police say Phipps' wife and another child were in the vehicle. The teen also was cited. Police say that even though she had a learner's permit, she wasn't allowed to drive because the supervising adults were under the influence of alcohol.
