SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — A Utah married couple convicted of killing of the woman's 4-year-old son won't get their first parole hearings for 40 years.
The Utah Board of Pardons and Parole on Tuesday set initial parole hearings in May 2055 for Stephanie Sloop and Nathan Sloop.
KSL-TV reports (http://bit.ly/1KJxXdz0 ) that Stephanie Sloop will be 72 and Nathan Sloop will be 76.
The couple was convicted separately of aggravated murder for the 2010 death of Ethan Stacy in Layton shortly after the couple was married.
Stephanie Sloop was sentenced in November to 20 years to life in prison.
Nathan Sloop pleaded guilty but mentally ill and received 25 years to life.
Authorities say the Sloops burned the body, disfigured the face with a hammer and buried it in a shallow grave in Weber County.
