ANKARA, Turkey (AP) — Turkey's state-run news agency says six children and a woman have frozen to death while trying to cross illegally into Turkey from Iran.
Anadolu Agency says 13 other migrants were hospitalized, five of them in life-threatening condition.
Anadolu says they were part of a group of 33 migrants discovered by Turkish soldiers near the Turkish town of Caldiran, close to the border with Iran.
The private Dogan news agency said the migrants were from Afghanistan and were traveling in sleet and freezing rain.
