73-year-old woman killed in 2-car Vegas crash identified

LAS VEGAS (AP) — A 73-year-old woman killed in a crash at a southwest Las Vegas intersection has been identified as Mary M. Cantrell.

The Clark County coroner reported Tuesday that Cantrell died of multiple injuries after the crash about 2:30 p.m. Monday at Rainbow Boulevard and Hacienda Avenue. Her death was ruled an accident.

Las Vegas police say Cantrell was a passenger in a 2007 Mercury Grand Marquis driven by 68-year-old David Platt of Las Vegas.

Witnessess told police the Mercury passed a red light before it was struck by a 2014 Audi S5.

Police say Platt and the driver of the Audi were hospitalized with injuries that weren't believed to be life-threatening.
