PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Officials say all seven cars of an Amtrak train that derailed in Philadelphia came off the tracks. The train was carrying 243 people from Washington, D.C. to New York City Tuesday night when it derailed, killing at least five people and injuring at least 65. A man who lives near the derailment says it sounded like "a bunch of shopping carts crashing into each other."
CHAUTARA, Nepal (AP) — Thousands of fearful Nepalese are spending a second night outdoors after a new powerful earthquake killed dozens of people. The death toll from Tuesday's quake is at least 65. Last month's quake killed more than 8,000.
SEOUL, South Korea (AP) — North Korean leader Kim Jong Un has executed his defense chief for sleeping during a meeting and talking back to the young leader. South Korea's spy agency says it has credible information that late last month People's Armed Forces Minister Hyon Yong Chol was killed by anti-aircraft gunfire with hundreds watching at a shooting range in Pyongyang.
JACKSON, Miss. (AP) — Authorities in Mississippi say they want to question two more people in connection with the shooting deaths of two Hattiesburg police officers last weekend. Surveillance video recorded hours before Saturday's killing shows a man and a woman getting out of a Cadillac Escalade at the motel where police later arrested suspect Marvin Banks. Thirty-four-year-old officer Benjamin Deen will be buried Thursday. The funeral for 25-year-old Liquori Tate will be held Saturday.
MEXICO CITY (AP) — A teenage girl at the center of a U.S. custody case has appeared in a Mexican court, two weeks after authorities mistakenly seized another girl with a similar name and sent her to the U.S. Thirteen-year-old Alondra Diaz Garcia is believed to have been taken by her father to Mexico in 2007 without her mother's consent. At a court appearance Tuesday in Mexico, an attorney for the father said Alondra is willing to go with her mother, who lives in Houston, Texas, and the mother would be willing to withdraw legal complaints against the father if she regains custody.
