TWIN FALLS, Idaho (AP) — A former treasurer for the Minidoka County Beet Growers Association is serving three years of supervised probation instead of jail time for stealing nearly $14,000 from the group.

The Times-News reports (http://bit.ly/1RAyVyg) 35-year-old Kody Lynn Nielsen pleaded guilty as part of an agreement with prosecutors that dismissed three felony counts of grand theft, among other charges.

Nielsen faces a possible three years in prison if he violates his probation.
