SARASOTA, Fla. (AP) — Authorities are investigating possible drug involvement in two weekend deaths at New College, Florida's elite public liberal arts school.
Sarasota police report that officers found 21-year-old Dylan Besser, a University of Central Florida student from Boca Raton, unresponsive in a residence hall early Saturday morning after a student called 911. On Sunday afternoon, authorities found 18-year-old Julian Toomsen-Hall, a New College freshman from Georgia, unresponsive in a different residence hall.
Investigators say the deaths could be drug-related, but they'll have to wait for toxicology tests to confirm it. That could take several months.
New College has nearly 900 students.
